The other issue, you really do need to know some computer programming or be very good at things like that yourself. However, most are still supported so I can't see that being a problem. If the remotes are really old though, they may no longer be of good use. Also, I would be shocked they would not offer their service since you are in their area as that is turning down money. One thing is since you have a local dealer and I do NOT have anyone within 3-4 hours away, most likely you will need to get one of them. A dealer won't, but there are other methods.
Ignore what the other guy says, you can obtain the software through a rep or such most of the time if you meet the right person. Basically they acted like it wasn't worth their time.
